Strengthening Trust Accounting Practices for California Attorneys

Jennifer Stalvey joined the State Bar of California in 2022 and served as the State Bar’s first in-house forensic accountant. She later joined the Division of Regulation and is currently the Program Manager supporting the State Bar’s new Client Trust Account Protection Program (CTAPP). She is a licensed private investigator in California and a Certified Public Accountant in both California and Tennessee. She has testified as an expert witness in both Tennessee and North Carolina. Prior to joining the State Bar, Jennifer served as Director of Captive Insurance for the State of Tennessee, where she helped design and develop an effective regulatory program for Tennessee’s captive insurance industry.

·     Common errors in trust accounting practices and practical guidance to correct them

·     New requirements – brief review of new bank reporting (BPC 6091.3) and upcoming compliance reviews (BPC 6091.4 and rule 2.6)
