Julie Casey joined the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court as a research attorney in February 2016. She began her legal career as an associate with Andre, Morris & Buttery in 2004, before becoming a research attorney for the Santa Maria courthouse in 2009. Tracy earned her J.D. from California Western School of Law.   David Nyssen joined the Santa Barbara County Superior Court as a research attorney in 2007. He began his legal career in private practice with New York law firm Fried, Frank, Harris Shriver & Jacobson in 1990, and in 1992 (after developing a profound dislike for merger and acquisition practice), became a Senior Judicial Staff Attorney at the California Supreme Court, where he stayed for 15 years.  David presently teaches Criminal Law at Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law. David earned his J.D. from UC Davis School of Law.

Presented by Joan Vignocchi, Legal Aid of Santa Barbara County

You aren’t retained on landlord/tenant issues, but your client comes to you with questions about their rights or responsibilities – either as a landlord or as a tenant. What do you tell them? Are there resources they can turn to? Who can you refer to, if necessary? And do covid-related regulations still fit in? A general overview of current issues in housing law.

Joan Vignocchi is an eviction defense attorney at Legal Aid Foundation SB County, serving North SB County and based out of Santa Maria. Funded on a grant that serves any senior, regardless of income as well as any client who earns up to 200% of the federal poverty level, Ms. Vignocchi is able to help any client who fits that criteria.
